About Me

farerso_1437I was born and raised in Barcelona, long enough time ago to witness the emergence of the personal computer and personal electronics. I started coding at the age of 10 on a ZX Spectrum + (thanks Sir Clive Sinclair!) and then upgraded to an Amstrad PC 1512 and others. Early adopter of digital technology (Psion Organizer, Canon RC-360 camera, …), I always thought and still think tech will make us freer. After graduating from Electronics Engineering at La Salle School of Engineering I spent a few years designing analog integrated circuits until the dot com bubble encouraged me to pursue an MBA at IESE with an exchange term at MIT. Post MBA, I fought against the innovator’s dilemma at industrial companies and scratched my entepreneurial itch by co-founding two startups: Kineto Project (wearable devices for fitness applications) and Witur (online marketplace for local tourist guides). I then jumped to the other side of the table to help amazing entrepreneurs build their companies as a venture capitalist at Debaeque and Caixa Capital Risc. In my quest to better understand the dynamics of the VC industry, I joined the European Investment Fund, the largest LP in European Venture Capital.

This blog contains my views and thoughts on the Venture Capital industry from the point of view of somebody who has been entrepreneur, VC, and now LP. Posts in this blog express my own views, not my employer’s. The data I show in this blog is public and I will always reference the source. Comments are moderated.

I hope you enjoy reading this blog as much as I enjoy writing it !
